15 Things I Have Learned As A Woman

They say with age comes wisdom, I agree with that. Wisdom comes from learning and what we learn throughout our life, is how we develop wisdom. When I was turning 40, I had people ask me how it felt, I wasn't dreading getting older, so I wasn't sure how to answer. I was working in the service industry at that time, I had a conversation with an elderly client in her seventies, explaining that I was turning 40 and everyone kept asking  me that question. To my surprise, she asked me another question, "What have you learned so far, as a woman?" At first I laughed, because I wasn't sure how to answer her, I had never really thought about it. I asked her to give me a moment to think about it. Then when I answered, I said  "I made mistakes in my twenties, in relationships and financially, paid for them in my thirties and I hope that my forties are better".  She started laughing and said "Oh Bobbie girl, you are learning". Why Do Woman Love Shoes?

Why is it, that men can not understand, why a woman loves shoes. By now men of all ages should have accepted the whole concept of a woman and her love for shoes. Recently, my 16 year old son asked me that very question "Why do woman love shoes?" My only answer at the time, was telling him to get used to it, someday he will get married and have a wife that loves shoes. Regardless of our reasons, we simply have a love for love shoes. They c...

Cooking: My Frittata Recipe

Image
I like to share a recipe every now and then, it makes me feel as if I am sharing a piece of myself, with my readers. I love to cook and love to challenge myself in the kitchen. I grew up in the kitchen with my grandmother and my uncles and so have my two children, cooking time was family bonding time. I spent this past week with my family, we had a family reunion and we all took turns cooking. I was on breakfast duty and decided to make a Frittata, they are fast, easy and serve plenty. The first thing I do is raid the refrigerator for any left over vegetables, meat and cheeses. Next I add my favorite ingredients to bring it all together and recruit other family members to help me with prepping all the ingredients. Here is what I came up with: 6- large Johnny Gold Potatoes 1- Red Bell Pepper 1- Green Bell Pepper 1- Orange Bell Pepper 1- Medium Spanish Onion 2- Roma Tomatoes 1- lb Bacon 1- lb Sausage 2- Dozen large eggs 1/2 tsp minced garlic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (evoo)...

Striking Out

As I promised, here is a piece of my work that has been rejected. I was able to choose from an assignment desk, this one was as it is titled below. As I read this article, I see where I can change, grow and re-write, I am still learning from my mistakes. ; ) Why I Prefer Movies Over Television The smell of popcorn drifting through the air; the dimming of the lights as the theater darkens, the big screen rises and the surround sound starts. The anticipation builds, as you are waiting for the movie to begin. Hollywood movie stars appear on the screen and it all comes together, to make the movie experience more exciting. Like so many other people, I prefer a movie at a theater over television. I fall in love with the big screen, after all this is a Hollywood movie, country that we live in. Hollywood has a way of capturing our hearts with sexy movie stars and intense action. Most movies have a story line that hooks our attention and holds on to us, making us want more. Though ...
