Why Do Woman Love Shoes?

Why is it, that men can not understand, why a woman loves shoes. By now men of all ages should have accepted the whole concept of a woman and her love for shoes. Recently, my 16 year old son asked me that very question "Why do woman love shoes?"

My only answer at the time, was telling him to get used to it, someday he will get married and have a wife that loves shoes. A week later, I started asking myself that very same question and here is what I came up with. My top ten list:

  1. Woman's Rights- It's part of our wardrobe, we have the right to choose.
  2. Shoes can make us feel sexy and confident.
  3. Men love it when woman are sexy and confident.
  4. Shoes offer Variety and we love Variety.
  5. There is a shoe for every season.
  6. Every season is a reason.
  7. Presentation- Shoes are a part of how we present ourselves.
  8. Fashion-We love it!
  9. Versatility- High heel, Low heel, Peep Toe or Pumps
  10. SHOPPING! DUH!
Regardless of our reasons, we simply have a love for love shoes. They can be a temptation and an obsession. Just as men like to be competitive with cars and money, woman compete with other woman and shoes help us win the battle. We love to look better than other woman and shoes help us look better.

The positive side is that we are helping create jobs, by buying shoes. The shoe industry is dominated by shoes for woman and it makes up a majority of the retail market. Shoe designers are always coming up with the next best shoe and it sucks us in. Our shoe obsession really is no different, then guys that gets sucked in by electronic gadgets and men love electronic gadgets.

The fact is, either you love shoes or you don't and most woman love shoes. As crazy as it may sound, shoes make us feel good, they can boost our self confidence and put us in a better mood. The collecting process is why we end up with a shoe collection in our closets, we love to collect. The same as a guy that collects Baseball cards and trophies, their collections grow as well.

As a matter of fact, it could be the same as asking a man, "Why do men love cars?"

  4. Need I say more!

The Little Things

Life takes us down many roads as we chase after our dreams, we often take for granted the beauty of what we are surrounded with. When we consume ourselves chasing after our dreams, we often forget to stop and smell the flowers. The one thing that I have learned is to appreciate the priceless little things in life What I am talking about are the things that are priceless, that money can't buy. Such as a beautiful sunset over the ocean. The feel of the sand between our toes. The way the sun feels on your skin, when it is shining on you, on a perfect day. As a woman, I believe that every woman should be able to embrace, being a woman. We should be able to be comfortable in our own skin and we should not have to compromise our femininity. We should be able to 'own' being a woman. For many woman and young girls of Kenya, embracing being a woman, isn't always the option. In some villages, woman have to feel that having a menstrual cycle each month, is a shame. Many young girls in Kenya, are missing out on going to school, because of having a period each month. We live in a society that is built off of modern technology and never have to think of feminine products and sanitary napkins as a luxury in life.
